Dinnertime. Again.

This blog was originally born from being asked "what's for dinner?" A question I receive multiple times a day. My first thought is always "how is it already dinnertime again?" I started this blog in January 2020, pre-pandemic and blissfully unaware of how many dinners (not to mention breakfasts, lunches and snacks) I was about to make in the coming years. The seemingly never ending cycle of trying to invent creative meals that my kids would not hurl across the kitchen table was exhausting. Now, almost 3 years later I find that the quandary of what to make for dinner feels like even more of a challenge. I find myself settling for take-out I deemed "almost inedible" a few years ago. I consider letting everyone eat cereal for dinner. I'm completely burnt out on cooking dinner and I know I'm not alone. If you've recently asked yourself "how many days in a row can I eat pasta" this blog is for you.

Beyond the dinner table.

The original question still remains, but thankfully I can once again cook for people other than my immediate family. I have always loved entertaining and cooking for a crowd - dinner parties, large cocktail parties, the more the merrier. Since covid, it seems like many people I know have traded large cocktail parties for smaller dinner parties, opting out of hiring staff and caterers and instead cooking for their guests themselves. As a classically trained chef and former caterer, I know that cooking for a crowd can be overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. In addition to dinner recipes, I'll be posting some tips and tricks to make entertaining less stressful (especially around the holidays), as well as general tips to help build confidence in the kitchen.
