The winter holidays can be a stressful time, especially if you're playing host. Santa might work hard on Christmas Eve, but I think we all know who works the hardest to make sure Christmas, and all of the winter holidays, are filled with "magic." After all of the list making, shopping, decorating, and gift wrapping, I often feel like my tank is empty by the time Christmas rolls around.
If you are going to be entertaining this holiday season, make your life easier by planning ahead. In addition to planning what you'll serve, you can save yourself some stress by serving dishes that can be made ahead of time. Imagine this: your parents/in-laws/second cousins, etc, arrive on Christmas Eve and you casually greet them, drink in hand. Not only will you be able to silently gloat that you don't need anyone's help and everything is cooked and ready to go, but your well deserved inner calm will rub off on anyone who walks through your door.
You might be thinking, how do I figure out what recipes can be made ahead of time? I'm here to help! I'm bringing you 12 Days of Christmas Recipes, which are not only festive, but can be completed ahead of time.
